Scientific Events

As part of the activities of the transversal group, scientific events are organized (seminars, study days international symposia) during which are invited researchers from LABEX laboratories and external personalities.

The cycle of conferences organised between 2013 and 2016 covered a certain number of metropolitan planning issues prevalent throughout the 20th century.

A bi-monthly scientific seminar to leverage research due for publication was initiated in November 2017.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the seminar will review past conferences (key points, weaknesses, projects that need to be initiated) based on cross-cutting issues : two sessions have been earmarked, including one with a transnational perspective to which Brazilian and European colleagues will be invited.

It will also tackle major structuring issues : two sessions have been earmarked over the (long) term of Grand Paris, and the whole issue of planning schemes will be dealt with in the form of an international workshop. Fin to more

A study day devoted to Digital humanity and the history of the Grand Paris building project was held on 14 September 2017 as part of Labex Week

It was used to review the experiments or project sites dedicated to metropolitan histories or different forms of digital use applied to urban history.

Two sessions addressed different approaches to analysing Grand Paris both in the immediate and the long term based on cartographic and documentary resources.

Two other sessions raised the question of restitution of the territories of Grand Paris and digital transmission of urban memories.

A concluding round table kicked off the debate on spatial and temporal surveying of the Grand Paris metropolitan landscape.
