2 February 2018 - Inauguration of Research Observatory for Mega Events -  Champs-sur-Marne

While Paris 2024 is the focus of all sorts of hopes and dreams, it also generates a fair share of concern and protest as well. Research can clarify both the hopes and the worries and this is why Université Paris-Est proposes to set up a Research Observatory for Mega Events to evaluate the impacts of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and help provide support for both its organisation and oversight. This would involve creating a new independent body with a view to minimising negative externalities and optimising the social benefits of the Games.
